Growing pullets are available from the Tom Barron Group and a range of pullet rearers across the country. Tom Barron supplies growing pullets to producers across the country. More than 60 per cent of pullets are reared on the company’s own specialist farms which provide deep litter and cage accommodation according to producers’ requirements. The company has taken a lead in introducing multi-tier rearing facilities in the deep litter houses. Around 30 per cent of rearing is done this way, promoting greater bird activity and leading to stronger legs and improved overall vitality. The company’s own fleet of pullet vehicles has been improved and expanded to provide the most appropriate type of transport whatever the order size. Great care is taken to rear pullets according to breed specifications so that pullets will have best start to lay.
