.New regional chick sales manager

Richard Jones has been appointed the new regional sales and technical
manager for Tom Barron Independent Hatcheries in Wales, West Midlands
and part of the west of England.

He replaces John Durkee who has now retired after working in the poultry
industry for more than 35 years including five years with Tom Barron,
UK distributor for ISA and Shaver egg laying strains.

Mr Jones grew up on a family farm producing beef, sheep and broilers in
Northern Ireland, and then moved to Wiltshire in 1995 when his parents took
over a poultry farm there. After completing ‘A’ level studies, he worked for
two years as a trainee farm manager with Webbs Country Foods.

For the past 10 years he has managed his own farm, first growing broilers
and more recently rearing point-of-lay pullets.

He is married and lives at Trowbridge, Wiltshire, where he plays rugby
for the local team.
